Discovering Freiburg: Old Town, Minster and Bächle

Freiburg Minster with its 116-metre tower, the famous Bächle running through the lanes, the colourful Münstermarkt and the view from the Schlossberg: the old town of Freiburg is one of the most beautiful in southern Germany – and can be explored entirely on foot. The Augustinermuseum, cosy wine taverns and the many cafés of the city centre invite you to linger. If you stay in one of our old town apartments, all of this is right on your doorstep – and you also get to experience Freiburg in the evening, long after the day visitors have gone.

Europa-Park and Rulantica: the Largest Theme Park in Germany

Europa-Park in Rust is the largest theme park in Germany, thrilling visitors with its European themed worlds, spectacular roller coasters and shows for the whole family – complemented by the Rulantica water world. From our Parkside Appartements in Herbolzheim, you can reach the park in around 15 minutes by car; from Freiburg it takes about 40 minutes. The big advantage of a holiday apartment nearby: more space and more peace and quiet for families after an exciting day – at far more relaxed conditions than right next to the park.

Black Forest: Feldberg, Lake Titisee and the Dreisam Valley

The High Black Forest begins right behind Freiburg: at 1,493 metres, the Feldberg is the highest peak in Baden-Württemberg, and Lake Titisee is one of the most popular destinations in the region. Hikers and mountain bikers will find a vast network of trails here; in winter, the ski resorts and snow-covered peaks draw the crowds. The journey on the Höllentalbahn railway through the wild and romantic Höllental valley is a highlight in itself. Kaiserstuhl and Tuniberg: Wine, Sunshine and Good Living

The Kaiserstuhl is one of the warmest and sunniest regions in Germany. On these volcanic hills between Freiburg and the Rhine, great wines ripen, which you can taste straight from the producer in the winegrowers’ cooperatives and in the Straußwirtschaften, the region’s traditional winegrowers’ taverns. Cyclists love the tours through the vineyard terraces; food lovers, the region’s Baden cuisine. In the middle of it all: Breisach am Rhein, with its imposing Stephansmünster towering above the town – and our Breisach Appartements as the perfect base between the vineyards and the Rhine.

The Border Triangle: Alsace, Colmar, Strasbourg and Basel

Freiburg lies at the heart of the border triangle of Germany, France and Switzerland – so day trips take you into three countries. Fairy-tale Colmar with its half-timbered lanes can be reached from Breisach in around half an hour; the Alsace Wine Route, with villages such as Riquewihr and Eguisheim, lies just beyond. Strasbourg with its Gothic cathedral and Basel with its first-class museums are both about an hour away. Your stay in Freiburg thus combines with excursions into three countries.
